Senior Staff Civil / Geotechnical Engineer
Responsibilities
• Prepare engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids;
• Perform geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, liquefaction, dynamic stability evaluation, foundation bearing capacity, and settlement;
• Perform design analyses for dams, shallow and deep foundations, and retaining walls;
• Conduct field exploration, collect samples, analyze data and review geotechnical samples for laboratory testing;
• Prepare geotechnical reports presenting results of field and laboratory programs, interpretation of filed and laboratory data, analyses, and recommendations for design;
• Assist Project Manager in scheduling and monitoring project progress, performing Earned Value Analysis, and organizing and maintaining project files (electronic and paper); and
• Observe geotechnical construction, including earthwork and foundations.
The position requires strong communication and technical writing skills and the ability to build trusting working relationships with colleagues and clients.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical engineering or other related field.
• Good knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and/or Microstation, MATLAB, and Geo-Slope Slope/W and/or Rocscience Slide.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Geotechnical engineering.
• Proficiency in computer software such as Golden Software (Grapher, Surfer, and Didger), PLAXIS, Istaca FLAC, gINT, ArcGIS, Civil3D, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop).
• Experience with site response and liquefaction assessment and with constitutive models of soil behavior for numerical modeling.
• Experience with analytical and numerical modeling for dynamic stability evaluations of slopes, dams, and/or structures.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT).

Project Civil / Geotechnical Engineer

• Interfacing with clients during the conduct of the work.
• Scheduling and monitoring project progress and performing Earned Value Analysis
• Develop the scope of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory testing and manage completion of the work;
• Perform or peer review geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, seepage, liquefaction, dynamic stability evaluation, foundation bearing capacity, and settlement;
• Prepare geotechnical reports presenting results of field and laboratory programs, interpretation of filed and laboratory data, analyses, and recommendations for design;
